The Devonport is a kitset bed base built for a fuller, tailored look. Its 28 cm upholstered panel sits on short 2 cm feet, so the base reads as a solid block rather than a frame on legs, and it is covered in Dune, a textured upholstery fabric, in Chrome Grey or Carbon Black. It arrives flat packed in one carton and assembles at home, which suits apartments, townhouses and homes with tight stairs or hallways. LVL slats with a centre support carry the mattress. The Devonport is headboard ready, and its Dune fabric matches the St Clair Headboard in the same two colours. From Dreamland, a New Zealand sleep brand, it is sized for New Zealand beds from King Single to Super King.

Good to know

What sizes does the Devonport come in, and is a mattress included?

King Single (107 x 203 cm), Double (137 x 188 cm), Queen (153 x 203 cm), King (167 x 203 cm) and Super King (183 x 203 cm). The mattress is not included.

How is the Devonport different from the Takapuna?

Both are kitset bases that arrive flat packed. The Takapuna is a slimmer base on legs with about 12 cm of space underneath. The Devonport has a deep 28 cm upholstered panel on 2 cm feet, in Dune fabric, for a fuller, tailored look.

Can I add a headboard?

Yes, the Devonport is headboard ready. The St Clair Headboard comes in the same Dune fabric in Chrome Grey and Carbon Black, so the two match.

Is there storage under the Devonport?

No. The panel runs to about 2 cm from the floor. If you want storage, the Newtown is a gas lift storage bed with a full under base compartment.

How do I care for the fabric?

Vacuum the fabric with a soft brush, spot clean spills promptly, and keep it out of direct sunlight.
